We wanted to let you know that we were thrilled with Katie’s performance on the PSAT. As a sophomore, she received an index score of 192. While that is a fairly good score, we knew that she had the potential to score higher. We do believe that her test prep with you was a huge factor to her success. She scored a 1500 and a 224 index score for this year’s PSAT!!!! She only missed a few questions on the entire exam.
Thank you for all of your work with Katie! We are so appreciative of how you have helped our daughter.

Erika, Parent, SCISD
Taylor took your 3-hour prep class and then the ACT in June.  She got a 35 - YAY! and a 6 on her essay with no preparation. Thank you!!! We were thinking she should take it one more time and try to improve the writing score, but decided we will just keep what she has!  She will be thrilled - she doesn't have to take the test again! Thanks for all your help!! Your boot camp was awesome!

Karen, Parent, SCISD
I just wanted to let you know that Jared got a 30 on his last ACT test!  We can’t thank you enough for all of your help!

Perfect 36 in ACT Math by Carroll Sophomore!!
Timarron College Prep is proud to announce July's Student of the Month, Ryan Stalder, who achieved a rare perfect 36 in the ACT Math section. Well done, Ryan! Out of 2100 TCP students, he is the first to achieve this goal. It is such a rare accomplishment because it is possible to earn a 36 composite without scoring perfectly in math. Ryan's mom, Gina, says "We are very proud of Ryan for his hard work. We can't wait to see what the future holds for him!" Since Ryan will be a Junior next year, it will not be until next summer that he plans to apply to a variety of schools that will appreciate his talents, including A&M, UT Austin, and Rice, each of which rank in the top 12 schools in the nation for Engineering. Serious about his future career choice, Ryan just finished an engineering internship with High Value Signs & Studio. Ryan has already completed the first and second year engineering courses, as well as project management at Carroll High School. This coming year he plans to take Robotics and AP Computer Science to continue his engineering curriculum. For fun, he plays Ultimate Frisbee and is going to join the Robotics team. "I appreciate all the help that Timarron College Prep has given me. The extra work definitely paid off and helped me achieve a great score on Math!"

Kathy, Parent, SCISD
My son is extremely happy with his June ACT test results. His original goal was to gain acceptance into Texas A&M, but your team exceeded his expectations. He was elated to receive a 31 on his most recent test! Thank you!

I just want to let you know how much my daughter and her friend appreciated the tutoring session with Stan. They walked in saying that they were very confused and were certain to fail their Physics test on Tuesday without some help. They both walked out an hour later with confidence saying that they "get it and it's easy!" Well worth the money!! Both of the girls understand concepts very quickly when it's presented in a way that's understandable. We are very thankful we found your organization.

Marissa, Student, GCISD
I am so thankful for your assistance with my ACT test preparation. I received my June score and it was high enough to receive 100% of the scholarship funds and gain acceptance into OSU. Honestly, I am so appreciative that words do not describe how grateful I am. Thank you very much from the bottom of my heart! I am so happy I will be receiving the financial assistance to make my dreams come true. Thank you for all you have done for me. I couldn't have done it without you.

Junior Sees Five Point Increase On ACT
After tutoring with Timarron College Prep, Southlake Carroll junior Craig Miller has seen a five point increase on his ACT composite score.  This improvement is especially remarkable, as it was only Craig's second time to take the test.  "I improved my overall ACT composite score by five points on my second try with a 34 in Math and a 33 in Science," said Craig.  "I improved in every area.  Thank you Bobbie and Timarron College Prep; I'm excited about my college opportunities." Craig is a resident of Southlake and is the son of Cindy and Blake Miller.  He is actively involved in baseball, Play it Forward, Scholars & Athletes Serving Others (SASO), Peer Assistance & Leadership (PALs), National Honor Society and the National Society of High School Scholars.

"After just a few weeks of tutoring, Craig was feeling confident and prepared for the ACT." said mom, Cindy.  "We are thrilled with the results and he plans to take it again; we're hoping for an even higher score." Craig's future plans include a major in economics and/or sports management, along with an MBA and law degree.  He is currently interested in attending Duke, University of Chapel Hill, TCU or OU.

TCP Senior Earns $70K Academic Scholarship
Senior Colin Marker has earned a prestigious academic scholarship from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in upstate New York.  He will begin his undergraduate classes there in the fall,  working toward a degree in Environmental Science.  Colin was awarded this $70,000 scholarship based on his high school GPA and ACT score.
"We felt Timarron College Prep really worked on Colin's weak spots," said his mother, Mairi.  "The tutoring helped him master specific areas and the individualized approach TCP takes made a huge difference."
Colin is a senior at Spring Creek Academy in Plano and is actively involved in playing and coaching tennis.  He competes in national junior and professional tournaments across the country.  Colin resides in Southlake and is the son of Mairi and Doug Marker.
Lesley, Parent, Dallas Jesuit
You helped my older son last fall with his testing. Thanks to Timarron College Prep he raised his ACT 4 points and ended up getting accepted into all ten schools he applied to. Now it is time to start test prep for my younger son. He is a sophomore at Dallas Jesuit and I'd like to get him in your classes this summer before he starts his junior year. Thank you for all you do!
Drew, Student, Coppell ISD
I increased my score by 8 composite points with only seven tutoring sessions. Thank you for your assistance. I couldn't have done it without your guidance. I am hoping to score even higher on the June ACT test. I can hardly wait to take the test again! Thank you!
Sue, Parent, SCISD
We are very excited about the increase in our son's score! He went up 8 points in English, 3 points in science, and 3 points in reading. Overall, he was only a point shy of a composite score of 30. The end result is a dramatic improvement compared to his last ACT test score. We went to visit The University of Virginia and he would really like to gain acceptance. So, his strategy is to start tutoring now until the September test to make even more significant gains in his score.

Nic, Student, SCISD
I increased my composite score by 3 points on the April test. Not bad for only 3 tutoring sessions! Thank you for your suggestions on test strategy and approach.
Stacy, Parent, SCISD
My son's score increased by 2 composite points on the April test. This is amazing given the short period of time he has tutored with you. We are grateful for anything you can do to help him reach his goal.
Joy, Parent, KISD
Our daughter absolutely loves Stan! She just received her ACT April test scores and her composite score was a 31! He helped her with every subject except math and she received a 33 across the board. Had she tutored on math, who knows what her composite score would have been? Thank you!

"Timarron College Prep helped prepare Hunter for college, as well as achieving his goals," said Rick Essex.  "TCP helped Hunter raise his ACT score by five points in just five months to attain a 31; this, and his high school class ranking, led to Hunter receiving the scholarships."

Westlake Senior Headed to OU
Joshua Shelton has been accepted into the University of Oklahoma. After tutoring with the staff at Timarron College Prep, he was able to improve his overall ACT score by seven composite points.
Joshua resides in Keller and is the son of Tammy and Frank Shelton. He is a recent graduate of Westlake Academy. As a senior athlete, he participated in a variety of varsity sports including cross country.  His dad, Frank, credits the professional tutoring Joshua received at Timarron College Prep for helping improve his ACT score - earning him the opportunity to attend the college of his choice.

Dragon Football Standout Headed to SMU
Carroll Dragon graduate Evan Brown will be headed for Southern Methodist University in the fall. He committed to the school last month after being courted with offers from the University of Tulsa, Yale University and the University of Pennsylvania.
After a successful high school career as a student-athlete, Evan plans to major in Business and minor in the language of Chinese at SMU.

"Evan owes a lot of his classroom and ACT/SAT success to Timarron College Prep and tutor Kristy Smith," said Evan's dad, Ron Brown.  "They have and will continue to have an influence on his success."
After sharing in his son's college admissions experience, Mr. Brown encourages students to begin taking entrance exams early - even as a sophomore, so weaknesses can be identified and focused upon. He credits Evan's ability to achieve his college goals as a result of getting an early start and partnering with the staff at Timarron College Prep.
Evan resides in Southlake, and is the son of Nobu & Ron Brown.

Sky's The Limit For Westlake Academy Senior
Senior Jennie Bruggemann is one of an elite group of 60 students to receive a United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) Falcon Foundation Scholarship. The Academy offers candidates scholarships into one of seven preparatory schools across the nation. Once Jennie has successfully completed a year at prep school, she will have the opportunity to be considered for the next USAFA class. This fall, Jennie will attend Northwestern Preparatory School in Crestline, California. She's currently interested in the medical field and plans on pursuing a Biochemistry degree once enrolled in the Academy.
Jennie is a student at Westlake Academy where she's actively involved in a variety of community and volunteer organizations. She's a member of the National Honor Society and a standout varsity soccer, cross country and basketball athlete. Jennie resides in Keller and is the daughter of Kelly and Ty Bruggemann.
Jennie's mom credits Timarron College Prep for giving her daughter a competitive edge in the USAFA selection process. "I truly recommend to any students preparing for the Academies admission process to start getting very serious about tutoring the summer prior to their junior year," said Mrs. Bruggemann. "The Academies will take scores throughout the admissions process and update your application which means you can keep continuing to take the ACT and SAT."

Senior Student Earns Acceptance Into West Point Prep
Nicholas Shelton recently learned he's been accepted into West Point Preparatory School.  He was chosen from a select group of students based on his ability to excel academically, physically and as a leader among his peers.  West Point Prep will ultimately prepare Nicholas to fulfill one of his lifelong goals - serving in the United States Military.  After he successfully completes 10 months at the prep school, he'll be attending the USMA's West Point in New York.

Nicholas resides in Keller and is the son of Tammy and Frank Shelton.  He is a senior athlete at Westlake Academy and has participated in a variety of varsity sports, including football, basketball and cross country.  His mom, Tammy, credits the professional tutoring Nicholas received at Timarron College Prep for helping improve his ACT score - earning him the opportunity to attend West Point Prep.

Gabby, Senior, Westlake Academy:
U.S. Congressman Michael Burgess has selected Gabby Carpenito as a congressional nominee to the United States Military Academy at West Point. This prestigious honor is reserved for students who excel both academically and physically. Although a congressional nomination does not guarantee a spot at West Point for Gabby, it's a great step forward in the service academy process. Each U.S. Congressman nominates up to 10 students and, by law, just one is selected from the group. Obtaining an appointment is extremely competitive - particularly for females (approximately 18% of appointments at West Point are given to women). Finalists are expected to be announced in March 2013.

Timarron College Prep has tutored Gabby since 2009. She is an outstanding senior at Westlake Academy and involved in a variety of leadership and community activities. She is a member of the National Honor Society and volunteers at the Keller Community Storehouse. Gabby aspires to study Economics and Political Science at West Point. She hopes to one day serve with Military Intelligence or Military Police. Gabby resides in Keller and is the daughter of Phil and Roxanne Carpenito.
