World Autism Awareness Day

Those working with students with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) will recognize the positive impact that structure and organization in daily lives can have on students' sense of security, safety and behavior. Most educators will recognize the value of visual supports for a wide range of students and, when supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, symbols can aid understanding, expression and reduce anxiety.

Most experts, though, believe that early intervention at an intensive level can be of great help to those on the spectrum. The earlier autism is diagnosed, the easier time the child will have learning to interact with the world around them.
